4 Bells for Freedom based on the quote on the ‘Liberty Bell’: Behold freedom, o Amsterdam, so it will protect you’.

A concert with youth choir incorporating the neighbourhood, schoolchildren, senior citicens about honouring Freedom. It is also a tribute to politician Auke Bijlsma, who tirelessly,and who initiated the making of the Liberty Bell of Amsterdam

Goal

To create awareness around and cherish and protect freedom we have

citicens of Amsterdam, families, older people, people interested in human rights, (4 Freedoms, Roosevelt Foundation)

Main activities

creating awareness around freedom in the neighbourhoods through interviews with people on the streets, workshops with children at school around that we already have freedom inside, offering their artwork to people in the old people’s home in the neighbourhood, . working with the Youth Choir and partly creating the lyrics together. At the end all activities with come together in the choir piece ‘Cantica Libertatis’, a 7 part choir piece including a spoken word artist who will create one of the 7 parts of the composition, together with the choir.
