TAMGHART - part of Nora Akachar's nieuwe makers traject

A theatre performance about what it means to be a strong woman in today's world focusing on the Amazigh definition of a strong woman, from the point of view of a Dutch-Amazigh performer.

Goal

For Nora to develop skills and experience as a theatre maker. To create a performance in which underrepresented people and especially women with Amazigh roots in the Netherlands can recognise themselves and find strenght in a collective shared experience and to offer a personal perspective to Dutch audiences, that may also prove recognisable thus overriding so called cultural "differences" and promoting connection.

Target audience(s)

Women with Amazigh roots and general dutch theatre audiences.

Main activities

17 performances with an open rehearsal and try outs for specific groups and also a programme beside the theatre where audience members can meet and connect after the performance, through activities such as henna tatooing and tea and snacks and invited panel speakers.
